It’s a new year, and this year at AM+Co our focus is on branded weddings for the bride who wants a bespoke experience for her guests. We design every branded wedding within the AM+Co aesthetic and customize it to your vision. With a branded wedding, we create every element – all of the stationery, signage, and day-of elements – so that each piece coordinates perfectly for one seamless look. Then, we carry the same motifs, shapes, and colors through in the slightest ways so that there’s overall harmony in the look for the day. AM+CO offers branded weddings for the upscale client who wants original items created especially for their wedding and perfectly executed by our creative studio.
Julie and Samir held our first branded wedding of 2023. For their January wedding in St. Petersburg, planned by Confetti Events, we did everything from invitations through day-of items. It was held at The Vinoy Renaissance Hotel, which is a notably pink and historic hotel built in 1925 (not to be confused with another pink beauty in St. Pete, the Don CeSar, where we did a wedding earlier in the fall).
Julie brought us in early in her planning process, and our creative work on her wedding was centered on texture and color. For her invitation suite, we combined a variety of paper textures. The main cards and reply cards were letter press. Her details card was a deckled-edge paper, which gave it a creamy color with gold leaf detail. This paper type added visual texture.
The rehearsal dinner invitation was pink-on-pink, where we used a deep pink shade to match the hotel exterior, combined with a dark pink print. The cream-colored liner paired well with the details card and included a watercolor illustration we created of the hotel. It was all tied together with a cream silk ribbon.
A plethora of day-of items tied together the details of Julie and Samir’s day. This is one of the main benefits of an AM+Co branded wedding. We design each small, customized, and personalized part to fit together, which contributes to the polish of the whole event. We left no detail untouched here.
To kick off the weekend, each guest who stayed at the Vinoy received a rattan welcome bag with a personalized tag (unfortunately, we don’t have a photo of this 🪦). Inside of each bag, Julie and Samir placed some of their favorite snacks – “His” and “Hers.” We created customized stickers for everything that was inside the welcome bag and used Sticker Mule to print these custom labels (big fans of Sticker Mule over here 🙋♀️ – we use them for everything!). This is a really nice way of branding the contents of your welcome bag without having to create custom packaging. We also made water bottle labels and itinerary cards, which held a schedule of the day-of events.
We used our flower box base for the welcome sign, which was filled with stunning pink and cream florals by 2 Birds Events. Funny story: when we placed the welcome sign outside, we realized the pink exactly matched the hotel’s pink exterior. This was completely unintentional, but it was a happy accident!
The seating chart was a champagne wall (which we retired from our offerings after this wedding). We included the M monogram on the top. The bride asked how we would distinguish champagne from sparkling cider on the wall for those guests who chose not to drink alcohol, so we added laser cuts to the side of the wall so that people could easily differentiate. I love the little gold star details that we included on their chart.
This couple pulled out all the stops for their bar. We created wood and gold drink stirrers with the same monogram from the seating chart, which were a great addition to the signature drinks. They named their signature drinks after their two pups, which was really fun. We incorporated two pet illustrations into their bar signs, which were a combination signature drink menu and bar menu. This sign played on texture, too, contrasting linen backings on one side with the other side in the same pink color as the outdoor signage.
This wedding had five (five!) bar signs, which seems like an unusually high amount, but they scattered the bars throughout the hotel so they were necessary. The ceremony took place on the lawn, then the cocktail hour was above the outdoor ceremony space in a mezzanine area. The were two bars there, and three bars at the reception that were spread out quite a bit. We did two versions of beverage napkins, one with a watercolor of the puppies, and one version for her rehearsal dinner held the day before the wedding that said “One Day Away” in gold foil.
For dinner, we also created tall menus with attached place cards in colors that indicated meal choice. We worked in the same stars from the seating chart for cohesion. Our stone table numbers numbered each table. These are a rental available to clients when we deliver.
We shipped many elements to this bride ahead of time so she could have them early, including her napkins, water bottle labels, drink stirrers, and welcome bag stickers. And as a cherry on top, Julie asked us to design a thank you card to send to her guests after the wedding. We incorporated the hotel illustration in this card. She got a lot of mileage out of her Vinoy illustration, which was fun to see. This final piece that guests receive is a bookend to a beautifully branded event.
