Today we are sharing Nancy and Trevor’s wedding from January of 2022. They were married at Bella Collina in a stunning modern, simple, and clean wedding with a black and cream color palette. Andi Mejia + Co had the opportunity to provide day-of items like their menus and place cards. We also provided signage, including their seating chart, welcome sign, and bar signs, for this beautiful and classy wedding.
A linen welcome sign greeted guests, featuring hand-drawn black florals and a raw edge that perfectly contrasted the clean and crisp lines you’ll see in the rest of the wedding. I love that about this wedding. You’ll see clean lines and stark contrast, and then something natural and a little wild to offset it.
The seating chart was an argyle-inspired pattern, with black diamonds layered over a cream background. The inspiration for the seating chart came from the bar, which has small diamonds on it. We wanted to echo that motif through to the guest’s entry. Recreating the diamonds on the seating chart in such a large size required a lot of math, but it was completely worth it!
The sides of the structure were black, which is different for us, since we usually use a light color for the sides. The center eight diamonds held the seating assignments. What made this seating chart unique is these eight diamonds had hooks, and after the guests were seated, these pieces could be turned to the reverse side to show plain black panels. Instantly this seating chart turned into a photo booth backdrop!
This seating chart is another illustration of the contrast between clean lines and something natural and wild, and Velvet and Twine did an incredible job placing greenery on the structure to make it dimensional. If you look closely you can see that we also hand-painted greenery on the wall. It was really cool to merge live greenery and painted greenery together in one element.
The bar menu was linen with a floral motif, calling back to their welcome sign. I love how it elegantly drapes over the dark and moody bar.
For their specialty drink menu, many of our couples request illustrations of their dogs, but Nancy and Trevor absolutely love their white teacup Persian cat, Penelope. I created a watercolor portrait of her for their bartop, and their featured drink was “The Penelope Cruz.” 😹
We used the monogram created for the couple on the front of their menu booklet. The menu was a simple yet elegant one-page folded card with a velvet ribbon. They also used the monogram on their dance floor.
Their place cards were small scrolls in three colors, and the color of the scroll indicated the guest’s meal selection to simplify service for the waitstaff. We hung them on champagne flutes at each setting for an elegant presentation.
We loved the opportunity to work with Blue Ribbon Weddings, their planner, to make our mark on Nancy and Trevor’s wedding, and to be a part of such a lovely day. If you’d like to chat about working on your wedding day, we’d love to talk! Please reach out!
