Mona + Jordan: Classic, Clean, and Creative

Mona and Jordan were married this past weekend at The Acre Orlando in a spectacular wedding planned by Woven and Revel.  Mona brought us on from the beginning, and we did everything from her invitations all the way to her very creative wedding signage and day-of paper goods.  Can I say I freaking loved this wedding!  Mona was so easy to work with, and above all, she trusted us, which separates good weddings from the best ones!

Blind Deboss Invitation Suite

Blind deboss invitations

Let’s talk invitations!  Mona’s colors were black, taupe, and white.  She didn’t want flowers or anything too fussy and instead wanted a modern yet romantic look.  For her main invitation card, we did a blind deboss line pattern and letterpress for her lettering. The line pattern was clean and classic. I was a little scared of how they would press in, but it turned out really well!

We added the same debossed lines to her RSVP card with black stars (an AM+Co signature design!) and an arched details card with very subtle lines in the background, which matched their envelope liner.

pill-shaped initial

We also added a minimal black pill-shaped embellishment with the couple’s initials and a smattering of stars bound the entire suite together.  And (unfortunately, I don’t have a photo of it) the wax seal on the outside of the envelopes also had their initials.

The Menus

Their menus had minimal blind debossed lines, which called back to their invitations. We also added a velvet tie. I love how the place settings came together with the romantic, gauzy napkins wrapped around the elegant arch of the menus, laid atop taupe, black, and crystal glassware provided by Glasshouse Rentals. Paired with our stone table numbers (rentals available for delivery only), these tables are what dreams are made of!

The Signage

Two-color welcome sign

The welcome sign featured a favorite saying of Mona and Jordan’s: “Here today, together forever.”  We did a unique two-color pairing on a welcome sign for the first time, matching the look of their invitations with taupe and black lettering.

Bar Sign and Card Box

Their bar sign was a dual sign with black acrylic and pinstripes on the left and scallops on the right.  And we created a black acrylic card box with the same pinstripes for their love letters from guests. 🙂

The Seating Chart

Seating Chart

Now, to the piece de resistance, the seating chart, which I refer to as our twelve-foot baby.  From a logistics end, this was a complicated weekend because we had multiple weddings happening simultaneously, so this was the first time Tyler wasn’t present for delivery. It was just me and my girls, and I had to conquer my fear of driving a box truck to make this install happen. We were so nervous about all of it, but it was really fun, and it all came together so easily!  Tyler set us up for success with an effortless setup! The only downside was that so much of the seating chart was black, and black doesn’t travel well.  Upon arrival, we had to repaint the entire wall, but the upside is that it made it look real crispy! 🥓

Shiny margarita glass

This seating chart incorporated so many unique elements.  The size of the structure alone was breathtaking – 12 feet wide by 8 feet high!  The charcoal lattice laid over the black background gave a two-toned dimensionality that truly set it apart from other designs we’ve done.  Mona envisioned an interactive margarita wall where people could pick a skinny or spicy drink, ring the bell for the type of drink they wanted, and a server would pass it to them through the wall from the back.

Jona and Rosie's Ritas

When we were in the planning stages, I thought it was a little unusual that the title of the seating chart was “Jonah and Rosie Ritas” because usually our charts have the couple’s names at the top.  But it all made sense when their puppies (Jonah and Rosie) arrived and took their place in front of the seating chart!  I have a soft spot in my heart for any wedding that incorporates pups, so it was fun to spotlight their dogs on a seating chart.

I loved working with Mona and Jordan to envision new, cutting edge and creative elements for their beautiful day!  Their guests will be talking about this elegant and fun wedding for years to come!  I mean, who wouldn’t want to ring a bell and get dispensed a margarita?  🙂
